Approaching Pain from a Rehabilitation Perspective Cheryll Cusimano, RN; Richard Morse, MD This timely workshop will explore the need for using a multidisciplinary rehabilitation approach in the treatment of chronic pain. Touro Infirmary Rehabilitation Center Visit a nationally recognized, CARF accredited Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Inpatient Chronic Pain, and General Rehabilitation Center. There are currently 63 rehab beds, located within an acute care facility that has a 150-year history as a private, not-for-profit, teaching hospital. JACHO designated Touro's Chronic Pain Center and Acute Brain Injury Unit as Best Practice Units for 2001. The tour will include 10 short presentations about unique services provided to our rehab patients including nursing historical perspectives; SCI education program; BI injury behavioral management; chronic pain multidisciplinary approach; Alternative Therapy Center; Neuro Science Center; Wound Care Program; IRF PAI Compliance; and Case Management interaction.
