ARN 2008 Annual Educational Conference
Continuing Education Information
Conference Goals and Objectives
The primary goals for ARN's annual conference are to increase
attendees' awareness of new trends in rehabilitation health care and to
support the continued growth of the specialty of rehabilitation nursing
and individual nurses. After participating in this conference,
attendees will be able to:
- Discuss state-of-the-art approaches to improving patient care and
outcomes through the exploration of advances in research, medicine and
nursing care and the impact they have on the rehabilitation patient and
caregiver.
- Implement improved clinical and administrative strategies for
effective rehabilitation of patients with a variety of diagnoses in a
variety of different care settings.
- Apply effective strategies to build bridges in the workplace to
better connect with and recruit colleagues across generations and
practice settings resulting in greater job satisfaction and improved
patient care.
Continuing Education Credit
You can earn 1 nursing contact hour (CH) for every 60 minutes of
educational time. You must complete and submit an evaluation form for
each session you attend to receive contact hours. Contact hours
available for each session are listed in the schedule of events.
The Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) is accredited as a
provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses
Credentialing Center�s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC-COA).
ARN also has submitted applications for contact-hour approval to the
Certification of Disability Management Specialists Commission (CDMSC),
the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCM), and the Commission
on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC), and is a provider
approved by the California Board of Registerd Nursing, provider#CEP
14427.
Faculty Disclosure
In accordance with the American Nurses Credentialing Center's
Commission on Accreditation (ANCC-COA), all continuing nursing
education providers are required to disclose to the activity audience
the relevant financial relationships of the planners, teachers, and
authors involved in the development of continuing nursing education
content. An individual has a relevant financial relationship if he or
she has a financial relationship in any amount occurring in the last 12
months with a commercial interest whose products or services are
discussed in the continuing education activity content over which the
individual has control. Relationship information will be disclosed in
writing in program materials. The material presented in the activity
represents the opinions of speakers and not necessarily the views of
ARN.
