Historic Old Town:

The historic heart of Albuquerque is Old Town Plaza, where the pace slows and pedestrians find refuge from fast traffic. Old Town's official beginning was April 23, 1706, when Francisco Cuervo y Valdes, Spanish Governor of New Mexico, certified the founding of the Villa de Alburquerque. Today, Albuquerque's Old Town consists of about 10 blocks of historic adobe buildings with restaurants, shops, and art galleries featuring a wide variety of Southwestern artwork including jewelry, sculpture, paintings, weaving and pottery.  Old Town is also home to the Albuquerque Museum, where the ARN 35th Anniversary Celebration will be held on Friday evening, October 23.   http://www.itsatrip.org/activities/neighborhood-guide/old-town.aspx

Indian Pueblo Cultural Center:

Native American groups have inhabited the lands of New Mexico for thousands of years; reminders of their ancient presence can be found throughout the state in cliff dwellings, pit houses, abandoned cities and ancient trade routes.  Today New Mexico is home to 22 Indian tribes, including 19 pueblos and three reservations.  Visit the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center to learn about visiting some of the pueblos and features exhibits of weaving, pottery, jewelry, clothing and photography from each of the 19 pueblos. https://secure.netsolhost.com/indianpueblo.org/index.html

Historic Route 66:

Alongside the vintage signs, you'll see new versions put up by businesses that are continuing the aesthetic traditions of old Route 66. The famous Route 66 continues to guide visitors through Albuquerque, from the volcanoes on the city's far west side through historic Old Town  and the Downtown business district, and continuing eastward through the trendy Nob Hill area, where you'll find many of the city's best restaurants, distinctive shops and boutiques.  http://www.itsatrip.org/albuquerque/historic-route-66/default.aspx
