The advanced practice nurse is often faced with challenges associated with the management of chronic wounds. An evidence-based approach will be used to discuss strategies for prevention and treatment of wounds. Come learn how you can enhance your current practice skill, while avoiding legal pitfalls.

Returning Heroes: U.S. Army Rehabilitation and
Reintegration History and Current Initiatives

This panel presentation will review rehabilitation and reintegration history of military medicine for the past 100 years and its relevance and impact on the U.S. Army's response to meeting the needs of the wounded warriors from current military conflicts. Special emphasis will be placed on lessons learned from World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and Operation Desert Storm.

Documenting Rehabilitation Nursing Interventions

Learn practical information on how to document evidence of rehabilitation nursing interventions from a functional perspective as well as from a medical aspect. The ARN Position Statement and Scope and Standards for Rehabilitation Nursing Practice will also be presented as a framework for documentation. Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in interactive case scenarios, a question-and-answer session, and open discussion.
