Purpose and Conference Objectives
The purpose of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Program is to provide members with opportunities for lifelong learning and assistance in maintaining their certification and licensure requirements, thereby promoting excellence in the provision of rehabilitation nursing care.
The ARN 40th Annual Educational Conference provides discussions on basic knowledge and skills, recent developments in research and science, best practices, and evidence-based recommendations. The content is driven largely by clinical gaps and the associated educational needs as determined by the Program Planning Committee. All of this information is aimed at representing state-of-the-art advances in rehabilitation care, management, and research. Note: Each session has specific learning objectives that are included in the complete session descriptions available on Conference Web Central at www.rehabnurse.org.
It is ARN’s policy that all faculty participating in a CNE-certified activity are required to disclose to ARN and to learners relevant financial relationships that they or their first-degree relative (spouse, parent, sibling, or child) have with any commercial interests. “Relevant financial relationships” include financial relationships in any amount occurring within the past 12 months that create a conflict of interest. Typically, such relationships would be with companies that sell healthcare products or services that are consumed by or used in the treatment of patients. The intent of this disclosure is not to prevent participation in CNE-certified educational activities by individuals with a relevant financial relationship with commercial interest(s), but rather to provide learners with information on which they can make their own determination whether or not said relationship(s) influenced the content of the educational activity.
Faculty disclosure information will be located within the conference guide after the scientific schedule. Faculty have been asked to also make a verbal disclosure at the start of their presentations supplemented by a disclosure slide to verify the accuracy of the disclosure information printed in the conference guide and ensure their disclosure information is shared with the learners prior to the presentation taking place.
The material presented during the conference represents the opinions of speakers and not necessarily the views of ARN.
