ARN Contact Hour Approval Program to be Discontinued
The ARN Contact Hour Approval Program (CEAU) program has become increasingly resource intensive over the past several years. The ARN Board reviewed the benefit of the program for the majority of ARN members, as well as forecasts for revenues and expenses, and relation to the ARN Strategic Plan. After thoughtful consideration, the conclusion was to discontinue the ARN Contact Hour Approval Program after December 1, 2009. ARN will continue to accept applications through December 1 and any approved programs will still be approved for two-years as authorized by ANCC. For more information, click here.

Contact Hour Approval

The Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) is an accredited approver of continuing education activities through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This means that individuals, ARN chapters, hospitals, healthcare facilities and corporations can submit educational programs to ARN and receive approval to offer contact hours for the programs.

Benefits of applying to ARN include:

• A two year approval period for programs. Once approved for contact hours, the same program can be offered an infinite number of times over this two year period for no additional fee with contact hours offered each time!
• Discounted fees for ARN chapters and competitive fees.
• Ease of use. ARN offers staff consultation on the application process at no additional cost. This service is available Monday- Friday, 9 am -5 pm CT.

Applications for contact hours are easy to complete.
