Spinal Cord Injury and Disorder Center to open in early 2009!

Today is an exciting day for at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center! We will be opening a new 30-bed state-of-the-art Spinal Cord Injury & Disorder (SCI/D) Center in early 2009. The dedicated SCI/D Center will provide life-long comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care and acute rehabilitation services to veterans with a spinal cord injury or disorder.

This is a wonderful opportunity for nurses to join our SCI/D interdisciplinary team. The 65,000 square-foot state-of-the-art technology complex will contain a full array of resources to facilitate comprehensive SCI/D nursing care, rehabilitation, and management. Every patient room and clinic exam room will be outfitted with a ceiling lift system and other equipment to promote safe patient handling and staff safety. Recruitment of nursing positions will continue over the next year.
