Nurse Manager - Inpatient Rehabilitation

Posted: March 20, 2008

Providence St. Peter Hospital, part of Providence Health & Services, is a 390-bed, not-for-profit regional teaching hospital. Located in Olympia, the state capital, Providence St. Peter Hospital offers comprehensive rehabilitation, medical, surgical and behavioral health services. We have been ranked as one of the top 100 hospitals and as one of 10 premier healthcare employers in the nation. Our hospital rests on a 173-acre campus, much of which includes natural forest and preserved wetlands that maintain a healing environment for patients and staff.

Department Profile

Our 19 bed Rehab Unit has a growing census, with an increasing number of neuro patients, especially stroke. Our discharge to home exceeds regional and national benchmarks. Our licensed nursing staff are able to provide primary nursing care and patient education. We have a number of Certified Rehab Nurses and will grow that number with strong nursing leadership. Recently the Hospital's Neuro-Sciences Center received Joint Commission certification for its stroke program. In January of 2007, the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit received a full three-year CARF accreditation with numerous recommendations.

Candidate Profile

WA RN license/eligible. BS required, preferably a BSN. Five years of medical rehabilitation professional experience (within the last seven years). Substitution: An additional five years of RN experience in a charge nurse or supervisory capacity will substitute for the Bachelors degree. Candidate must be actively enrolled in a BSN program to obtain the degree within two years. Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing or eligibility required.

Why should you consider a career with Providence Health & Services in Southwest Washington?

Location, Location, Location!

Olympia and the surrounding communities offer affordable housing options in a beautiful setting with the additional bonus of no traffic congestion or state income tax. Our community retains a small-town feel, but boasts the resources and amenities of a much larger area. It's a great place to raise a family, with excellent schools, friendly neighborhoods, a vibrant downtown and something to do at every turn. Set on the southern tip of Puget Sound, we are right in the heart of the Pacific Northwest ... both in geography and in attitude. Interstate 5 offers quick, convenient access to many great Pacific Northwest destinations such as Seattle, Vancouver, and Portland.

Values-based Employer

At Providence Health & Services, we maintain an open work environment that fosters diversity, growth and improvement, the exchange of ideas, and a belief in our mission. If you're looking for a health care organization where you will be valued and your best work will be rewarded, Providence Health & Services is the place.
