Welcome to the ARN Competencies Assessment Tool (CAT).
The ARN-CAT contains 16 individual assessments, each targeting a specific skill or competency area critical to rehabilitation nursing.
Each assessment contains a collection of challenging knowledge or scenario-based multiple choice questions, with a rationale and reference provided for all correct answers. Users can complete each assessment as often as they wish. The ARN-CAT reports the number of attempts and the last score earned. Whether you use it on yourself or as part of staff training and evaluation, the ARN-CAT is the perfect resource to help evaluate basic rehabilitation nursing skills and competencies.
The ARN-CAT has been successfully used by Nurse Managers, Administrators, Educators, and Case Managers needing a simple way to evaluate staff competency in the basic areas of rehabilitation nursing. The next time you need to provide evidence of competency to JCAHO, or to test your staff's knowledge to meet internal education goals, or evaluate the proficiency of visiting/floating nurses, think of the ARN-CAT.
