Benefits

Your ARN membership links you to over 5,000 rehabilitation nurses. Members have a broad range of clinical experience and practice in many settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, home health agencies, subacute and long-term care facilities, and private companies.

By actively participating in ARN educational programs, committees, local chapters, and special interest groups, you can develop relationships that will enhance your professional growth.

Information you can use

Members receive subscriptions to the peer-reviewed Rehabilitation Nursing journal, providing important information on current practice issues, research and its implications, editorial features, and news about products and services for individuals with disabilities or chronic illness; ARN Network, to inform you about the latest professional and organizational news, including information about professional events, resources, approaching deadlines, chapter news, certification information, and member recognition; and the Health Policy Digest, an electronic resource designed to provide members with updates on health policy, legislative, and regulatory developments that directly relate to rehabilitation nursing practice.

The best continuing education

ARN offers continuing education opportunities that are comprehensive and rewarding. You’ll receive discounts on all events, including the ARN Annual Conference; the Professional Rehabilitation Nursing Course; the Advanced Practice Course; and the informative bi-annual Research Symposium sponsored by the Rehabilitation Nursing Foundation. Members also receive discounts on valuable resources.

Free Online Nursing Contact Hours

Members can earn free online nursing contact hours several times throughout the year through the Members Only section of the ARN Web site. It's easy. Earn one free nursing contact hour by reading an article, completing a post-test, and printing your certificate of completion.

ARN's online membership directory provides you with convenient access to colleagues from around the world. Members can also easily update their own information. Mailing labels are available for purchase.

Professional Network

An ARN membership links you to over 5,000 rehabilitation nurses worldwide. Members have a broad range of clinical experience and practice in many settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, home health agencies, subacute and long-term care facilities, and private companies.

By actively participating in ARN educational programs, committees, local chapters, special interest groups, and the Rehabnurse-L email discussion group, you can develop relationships that will enhance your professional growth.

Local Chapters

You can join one of over 60 chapters across the United States. These chapters offer educational programs, exposure to local rehabilitation nursing issues, and excellent networking opportunities. Chapter membership is a great way to get involved and can be your starting point for leadership in ARN.

If you are interested in joining a local chapter, your first step is to join ARN. If you are already a member, check out the list of chapters and their dues. Note: membership in ARN is a requirement for chapter membership.

Special Interest Groups

You can also join up to 2 ARN special interest groups (SIGs). The 12 SIGs listed below focus on networking and help you remain current in particular practice areas through annual SIG meetings at the ARN conference. To find out more about SIG activities, contact the ARN office at 800/229-7530 or 847/375-4710.
